From Seed to Fruit – How Our Pomegranates Are Grown
Every pomegranate tells a story of dedication and nature’s magic.
Here’s how our cultivators in northern part of India bring this superfruit to life.
Land Preparation
What Happens: Farmers till the sandy-loam soil, removing weeds and ensuring perfect drainage – the foundation of a thriving orchard.
Planting
What Happens: Saplings, often grown through air layering, are planted in pits during the monsoon or spring. Spaced 4-5 meters apart, they’re set to flourish.
Irrigation
What Happens: Drip irrigation delivers water straight to the roots – a smart solution for Solapur’s dry climate. Summer calls for watering every 10-15 days, while winter stretches to 20-25 days.
Care & Maintenance
What Happens: Organic manure and fertilizers nurture the trees, while eco-friendly pest control keeps threats like bacterial blight at bay.
Harvesting
What Happens: After 4-5 years, trees bear fruit. Harvesting begins 120-130 days after fruit set, when the skin glows yellowish-red. Each fruit is hand-picked for quality.
Grading & Packing
What Happens: Fruits are sorted into Super, King, and Queen grades based on size and color, then packed to lock in freshness.
Why It Matters:
“This careful process ensures every pomegranate is a masterpiece – sustainably grown and bursting with flavor.”
